Summary

SocialDancer.org is a Django-based web application that lists social dance events, courses, and festivals, primarily focusing on Fox and Bugg dances in Sweden. It allows users to search for events, view them on a map, and add their own events after registration. The site also provides information about cookies, terms of service and privacy, and offers options for language selection and donations.

Target Audience

The target audience is social dancers, particularly those interested in Fox and Bugg dances. It also caters to organizers of dance events and courses looking to promote their activities. The site primarily focuses on events within Sweden.

Key Features

  • Listings of social dance events, courses, and festivals.
  • Search functionality for events.
  • Map view for event locations.
  • User registration and event submission.
  • Multilingual support (English, Swedish, Spanish).
  • Cookie consent management.

Pain Points

  • The site seems to be heavily focused on dances in Sweden, which might be a limitation for users in other countries.
  • The bookmarking function requires registration.
  • The site's design could be more modern.

Usage Instructions

Users can browse the listed dance events, courses, and festivals. They can use the search bar to find specific events or view them on a map. Registered users can add their own events. The site also provides options for language selection and cookie consent management. A quick sound plays when clicking the dancer icon and the bookmark button.

This site is location agnostic and that the events are in Swedish is just because it is only used in my locale so far.
